"Brave Me, Brave You" is an early preventative initiative designed to educate our youth on the skills required to be brave in situations that can cause harm through physical or emotional trauma.
The "Brave Me, Brave You" initiative was created to allow a more developmentally appropriate approach to S.A.A.S.Y. It focuses on teaching younger children how to be brave in scary and potentially harmful situations such as bullying or when someone is intentionally causing them harm.
During a "Brave Me, Brave You" presentation, I provide the children with a coloring sheet that I created. This is an interactive activity that I like to do with them.
Also during a presentation, I provide each child with a "Brave Me, Brave You" bracelet that I hand make.
Another part of the "Brave Me, Brave You" presentation is the "My Safety Hand" worksheet. This worksheet allows the children to think about five adults that are in their lives they know they can trust and go to in a scary situation. Each of those five adults gets their name put on a finger on the hand.
This is a collection of videos from my first "Brave Me, Brave You" presentation.
